How to register cars out of state + a couple other questions?
So I go to school in Los Angeles, but my permanent address is in Texas as is my driver’s license. I need to buy a car here in Los Angeles for the summer but I’m going to sell it again at the end of August. How (if I can) do I do the following?
1. Register the car in California
2. Register the car in Texas (remember I am buying the car in Los Angeles and not taking it back to Texas for a few months if at all)
3. Are there long term rental companies?

1. You switch your license to CA, so you can get CA insurance, which you need to register the car in CA.
2. You bring/send the completed title and a power of attorney form, to someone in TX who pays taxes and fees, and gets the TX tag, and mails it back to you, after adding it to a TX policy.
3. Yes. Ugly Duckling and Rent a Wreck come immediately to mind, where you can rent a car a month at a time.
